History of the Belair Private Clinic
The Belair Private Clinic is a hospital in Schaffhausen. It is on the hospital list of the canton of Schaffhausen, which has issued service contracts for basic medical care. The clinic was founded in 1971. In the 2016/17 financial year, 1,543 inpatients were treated at the clinic by 40 specialists.
The Belair Clinic was opened in 1971 as the first private maternity clinic in Schaffhausen. From the 1980s onwards she developed additional specialist areas and in 1990 orthopedic surgery was introduced. A day clinic began operations in 2000. From 2001 to September 30, 2019, the Belair Clinic was part of the Hirslanden private clinic group. Swiss Medical Network took over the clinic on October 1, 2019. With the takeover, the name also changed from “Klinik Belair” to “Privatklinik Belair”.
