History of the Eastern Swiss Children's Hospital
The Eastern Switzerland Children's Hospital is a regional center for pediatrics and pediatric surgery in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The hospital's sponsors include the eastern Swiss cantons of St. Gallen, Thurgau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
The infant hospital opened on May 18, 1909 on the initiative of the doctor Frida Imboden-Kaiser. The Eastern Swiss Children's Hospital later emerged from this.
In 1966, the children's hospital was converted into a non-profit foundation based in St. Gallen.
