History of the Graubünden Cantonal Hospital Kreuzspital
The Chur hospital has continuously developed. Since 2006, the Cantonal Hospital of Graubünden has been the central hospital in southeastern Switzerland with three locations: the main location, the Fontana location and the Kreuzspital location. The KSGR has also been running the Walenstadt Hospital since 2023.
The Kreuzspital was built in Chur in 1912 and four years later Anna von Planta donated her villa so that a maternity hospital could be built there. Today the women's hospital is located there. In 1941 the cantonal hospital was added and numerous conversions and renovations followed. There were several medical facilities in Chur, but they all operated independently of one another. This changed in 2006 with the merger of the Fontana Cantonal Women's Hospital, the Rhaetian Cantonal and Regional Hospital and the Kreuzspital. That was just the beginning. The hospital is set to continue to grow and Zindel United is now helping to write a new chapter in the history of the hospital.
