For more than 100 years, the Merian Iselin Clinic Basel, with its main disciplines of orthopedics, surgery and urology, has been a mainstay of the regional healthcare system. As an affiliated doctor's clinic, it is a welcome and widely used alternative for everyone who wants to feel safe and secure thanks to their personal and free choice of doctor. Regardless of person or origin, the clinic in Basel's Gotthelf district is open to anyone who would like to be treated, operated on and cared for in one of the medical disciplines on offer. In a nutshell, this means: The Merian Iselin Clinic is the Basel clinic for everyone.
The Merian Iselin Clinic was founded in 1916 as a non-profit foundation. Three years before her death, Adèle Merian-Iselin deposited her will with her notary. The Merian and Iselin families have been closely linked to Basel for centuries and have repeatedly appeared as patrons and philanthropists. The will stated that a certain amount was to be used to create and fund a homeopathic hospital with at least fifteen beds in the Basel district.
A lot has happened since then, and today the Merian Iselin Clinic is the leading health center for orthopedics and urology in northwestern Switzerland. However, its non-profit character has been retained.
