The Claraspital has clearly positioned itself medically with its tumor center, the university abdominal center Clarunis, which is operated jointly with the university hospital, its mandate for highly specialized visceral surgical procedures, and the specialties of urology, pneumology/thoracic surgery, cardiology, gynecology, intensive care medicine and interventional radiology. We also offer extended basic care with a large general internal medicine facility, a 24-hour emergency department and a cardiac catheter laboratory.

Once the overall renovation of the infrastructure has been completed, the facade of the original old building will shine in its full splendor again.

In the new Hirzbrunnen replacement building, emergencies are admitted, patients are operated on, chemotherapy is administered and physiotherapeutic reactivation is offered in the new, ultra-modern rooms.

The south wing of the Claraspital was also rebuilt, the areas of individual departments were enlarged with a view to the future and individual departments were rearranged.

Among other things, the new intensive care unit was located on the first floor, directly adjacent to the new operating area, and behind it, in the immediate vicinity, the cardiac catheter laboratory. On the ground floor, the proximity of the emergency ward to diagnostics (radiology, nuclear medicine) ensures that emergency patients are diagnosed even more quickly and the quality of care is even better.
